Lower Sixth Psychology pupils from Exeter School enjoyed an inspiring and hands-on day of learning last Tuesday during a visit to We The Curious for an “Experience Psychology” workshop.
The trip gave pupils the opportunity to deepen their understanding of psychology beyond the classroom, while developing valuable practical research skills ahead of their upcoming examinations.
Hands-On Psychology in Action
The day began with pupils conducting their own observational research, applying key psychological theories and methods in a real-world environment. Working collaboratively, the Lower Sixth students demonstrated impressive analytical thinking and attention to detail as they explored how psychologists gather and interpret behavioural data.
The workshop then moved into a packed afternoon of experiment-led activities, where pupils took part in a range of engaging tasks designed to bring psychological concepts to life. From experimental design to data collection and evaluation, the sessions challenged pupils to think critically and scientifically throughout the day.
High Praise for Exeter School Pupils
Staff at We The Curious were full of praise for the Exeter School group. One member of staff commented that they had “never had a more switched on and knowledgeable group” during their time delivering the programme.
Such feedback is a tremendous reflection of the enthusiasm, curiosity and academic commitment shown by Exeter School’s Lower Sixth psychologists. As pupils prepare for their examinations, the visit provided both valuable experience and a confidence boost at an important stage of the academic year.
Inspiring Curiosity Beyond the Classroom
Experiences such as these form an important part of life at Exeter School, where pupils are encouraged to extend their learning beyond the classroom and engage actively with the world around them.
The Psychology department looks forward to seeing pupils build on the knowledge and skills developed during this memorable and highly successful trip to Bristol.
