A Day at Pre-Prep

Early Birds Club

Children can be dropped off from 7.30am if an earlier start is needed. While we do not provide food, they are welcome to bring breakfast with them. This service is supervised by school staff in the Nursery classroom and charged at £2.85 per half hour.

Classrooms open at 8.30am, when all children are welcome to come into the building. Children in Early Birds will also head to their classrooms and the school shuttle bus arrives at this time.
Registration

All children are expected to be in school by 8.50am when registers are taken. Each class gets ready for the day and lessons begin at 9.00am.
Lesson 1
09:00 - 10:20am
More Information
All classes usually start the day with reading, phonics and English. All children read aloud one-to-one to an adult every day and have their reading book changed if it has been finished.
Assembly
10:20 - 10:40am
More Information
All children, including the Nursery, have assembly in the hall every day with the Head. On Wednesdays, we enjoy singing assembly, and on Fridays, we celebrate stars of the week and other achievements.
Playtime
10.40-11.00am

The children put their welly boots on to play outside in our acre of grounds. They are encouraged to eat a healthy fruit or vegetable snack and drink plenty of water.
Lesson 2
11.00am-12.00pm

The second lesson of the day will usually be mathematics with lots of practical, hands-on learning experiences and apparatus to aid learning.
Lunch
12.00-1.10pm

A healthy, nutritious lunch is served in the hall for all children. Each class sits together with their teacher at the head of the table for a family-style hot lunch. Good manners and polite conversation are explicitly taught. After dessert, the children head

Nursery and Reception enjoy Early Years free flow learning on most afternoons. Lessons for older children might include science, history, geography, art and design technology, computing or religious education.
Playtime
2.15-2.30pm

The children have another short break to refresh themselves before the final lesson of the day.
Lesson 4
2.30-3.30pm
More Information
From Reception, the children enjoy subject specialist teaching in PE, music, French, wellbeing, PSHE, Forest School and swimming. Children return to their classrooms to get ready for the end of the school day at 3.30pm.
After school clubs
3.30-5.30pm
More Information
There are two after school clubs on offer every evening from 3.30-4.30pm. Our after school care facility runs from 3.30-5.30pm daily and is supervised by school staff in the Nursery area.
