Gift Aid

Exeter School is a registered charity. If you are a UK taxpayer, the school can reclaim tax on your donations at no extra cost to you. This is worth an extra 25p for each pound you donate.

Please download our Gift Aid declaration form and return it to the school, or complete our online Gift Aid form here.

In addition, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can reclaim the balance between standard and higher rates of tax by including your Gift Aid donations on your self-assessment tax return. The table below illustrates the impact this has on your donation:

Actual cost of gift for higher rate taxpayers Your gift to Exeter School Total value of your gift with Gift Aid
45% taxpayer 40% taxpayer
£55 £60 <£80 £100
£275 £300 £400 £500
£1,375 £1,500 £2,000 £2,500
£6,875 £7,500 £10,000 £12,500

Donations from companies are not eligible for Gift Aid. However, the company can treat the gift as an allowable expense, making a saving on corporation tax.

DONATE TO THE BURSARY FUND

Giving from the USA

We are very grateful for the support we receive from our Exonian community in the USA. We have registered with the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF), a US 501(c)(3) charitable foundation and US registered charity, to ensure that our US taxpayers can support the school in the most cost-effective way without removing any tax benefits. Bequests, legacies, transfers or gifts are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes.

If you wish to donate via check (in US dollars) please download this donor transmittal form, and enter Exeter School under the institution you would like to support.  The check and transmittal letter should be mailed to the British Schools and Universities Foundation at 575 Madison Avenue, Suite 1006, New York, NY 10022-2511. If you would like to donate via credit card, wire donation, securities and funds, or via any other means you can find further details on how to do so via the BSUF website. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Alice Holohan, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, in the first instance.
