The Biology Olympiad competition consists of two, tough 45 minute online tests in which the pupils must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of topics from their A Level course and beyond.

This year, there were over 15,000 participants from 900 schools worldwide who entered the competition.

The event was open to Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth biologists, and 24 Exeter School pupils took up the challenge with four pupils being commended or highly commended.

Five Bronze awards go to Freddie C., Fran J., Kirsty S. in Lower Sixth, and Alice J. and Georgia P. in Upper Sixth.

Silver awards were won by Maybel G., Jess M. and Matt R. in Lower Sixth, and Angus B-W, Oscar G. and Jay S. from the Upper Sixth.

Two prestigious Gold awards (awarded to those scoring in the top 5% of competitors) went to Leala O. and Felicity P. from the Upper Sixth.

Congratulations to everyone who took part.
