Posted: 16th January 2026

On Wednesday, our Upper Sixth (Year 13) geographers enjoyed an educational visit to Hinkley Point, the site of the new nuclear power station currently under construction on the Somerset coast.

The pupils returned full of enthusiasm, having gained a deeper understanding of the project’s importance in meeting the UK’s future energy needs, as well as the environmental, logistical and engineering challenges involved in delivering infrastructure on such a vast scale.
