Pre-Prep Reflections Week 10 November 2025
Dear parents,
The Christmas trees are up, the school is echoing with the sound of festive songs, and the decorations have been dusted off in readiness for the start of December! This is a particularly busy time of year with so much going on. Please do take a moment to read through the newsletter so that you don’t miss anything.
Parents’ Evening
It was lovely to see so many parents on Wednesday at parents’ evening. We hope you found the meetings useful and came away with a clear idea of how we can work together to support your child with their next steps. I am aware that there was a technical error with the attendance data on some children’s autumn reviews, which I am working with the IT team to resolve.
Entry to Year 3
Year 2 parents will have received an email from our admissions team this week, reminding you to register your child for a junior school place next year. You do not need to do anything at this stage; it is simply to inform or remind you of your login details for the Open Apply admissions platform that we use. Further details will be shared with you in due course.
Music lessons survey
I will be writing to parents next week to ask you to register your interest for one-to-one music lessons with our new visiting teachers, Mr Savage and Mrs Davies. These lessons will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from January, and we hope to offer piano, singing and violin in the first instance. Please do look out for the email. We will also be having both new teachers in school to do an assembly for the children very soon.
Christmas post box
The Christmas post box will be making its annual appearance from Monday. If your child would like to write Christmas cards for friends and staff, they can be brought in any time up to the end of term. Please ensure that the recipient’s name and class are clearly written on the envelope so that the Year 2 children can deliver them to the right places.
Next week
I am looking forward to meeting with the class reps on Monday morning, followed by the school council reps on Thursday morning. We are excited to have Mrs Sam Landy joining us from next Wednesday in the permanent role of school administrator. Many thanks to Fiona Turner for covering the school office so brilliantly over the past couple of weeks.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget the advent calendars on Monday morning!
