Exeter School is delighted to congratulate George on his continued success in rugby after being selected to tour Singapore and Malaysia with the England Independent Schools Lambs Rugby Club (RFC).
George’s selection is the latest milestone in an outstanding season and reflects the hard work, commitment and resilience he has shown both on and off the pitch. Representing the England Independent Schools Lambs is a significant honour, and this international tour offers a fantastic opportunity to compete against talented opposition while developing as a player.
National recognition for George
George’s journey to international selection began earlier this year following a nomination by Mr Ross. He then progressed through a series of demanding regional and national trials, where he impressed selectors with his skill, determination and attitude.
His performances earned him a place in the prestigious England Independent Schools Lambs RFC squad in February, recognising not only his rugby ability but also the dedication and consistency he has demonstrated throughout the season.
Since joining the squad, George has represented the Lambs in three fixtures during the spring, gaining valuable experience against high-quality opposition. These matches have enabled him to further develop his game, build confidence at representative level and prepare for the challenges of international competition.
An exciting international rugby tour
George has now been named in a 23-player touring squad that will travel to Singapore and Malaysia at the end of next week.
During the tour, the team will play four matches against strong opposition, giving players the chance to test themselves in a new environment while experiencing different styles of rugby and cultures. Tours such as these provide invaluable opportunities for personal growth, helping young athletes develop independence, resilience and teamwork alongside their sporting skills.
Representing the England Independent Schools Lambs overseas is a tremendous achievement and a memorable experience that George will undoubtedly carry with him throughout his rugby journey.
Everyone at Exeter School is incredibly proud of George’s achievement and the dedication that has led him to this point. We wish George and the entire England Independent Schools Lambs squad every success on tour and look forward to following their progress in Singapore and Malaysia. We can’t wait to hear all about this exciting experience when he returns.
