Pupils enjoy French theatre visit

Posted: 6th February 2026

On Tuesday, Fourth Form and Lower Fifth French pupils enjoyed a visit from The Onatti Theatre Company, who performed a French play called “RSVP”. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience a live French performance, with plenty of audience participation and even a few brave pupils invited on stage to join the actors.

The play was thoroughly enjoyed by pupils, with Kiera commenting that “it was really fun and easy to follow along with the storyline”, while India praised the performers, saying “I liked how they were very interactive with the audience and their acting was really good with lots of enthusiasm”. James also enjoyed the performance, stating “I loved the enthusiasm of the actors and the engagement of the crowd… personally I found it amazing.”

This review below is written by Lower Fifth (Year 9) pupils Connie and Leia:

“The play was performed by two incredible multilingual actors as well as multiple volunteers from Lower Fifth and Fourth Form! It was a highly engaging play and very funny. The plot followed a couple planning a party. The contrast between the pair was amusing and the actions in their dialogue really helped us follow along. The comedic aspects of the play were also captivating and had us all laughing at points. We especially enjoyed how surprisingly easy it was to understand the French despite our limited French knowledge! By the end of the play we all felt that our French comprehension skills and confidence had improved greatly. Overall, it was a delightful bit of French which opened our minds. We all hope to see them perform again in the future.”
