The first Informal Concert of 2026 took place in the Music Hall after school this Wednesday, when a number of the woodwind players took to the stage. Ranging in age from Henry in the junior school up to Caspar and Austin in the U6, the concert provided the opportunity to hear saxophonists, flautists, clarinettists and an oboist.
The U6 duo began the concert in style, playing a movement from Bach’s oboe and violin concerto (Austin taking the violin part on his ‘cello), with solo items accompanied by Mr Daldorph following, in a variety of genres including jazz, folk, musical theatre, Latin and contemporary classical. Our next Informal Concert is Weds 21 January after school and will be in the Chapel, when it is the turn of the singers.
