Success in the Bebras computing challenge

Posted: 19th December 2025

We are excited to share the fantastic achievements of our pupils in the Bebras Computing Challenge, which took place in November. This national competition, run annually, invites schools across the country to take part in a series of fun and challenging computational thinking problems. It is designed to promote logical reasoning, problem-solving, and creativity. These are key skills in the world of digital learning.

In the junior school, pupils begin their Bebras journey in the Kits category (Form One), working collaboratively in teams to solve problems. Teamwork continues to play a key role in Upper One and Lower Two, where pupils tackle the Castors challenge together. From Upper Two onwards, the competition shifts to an individual format, requiring pupils to apply their problem-solving skills independently.

This year, pupils received full marks in the Kits, Castors and Juniors categories.

Tom, James and Charlie (All F1H) received full marks as a team in the Kits category.

Isabelle, George and Emme (All L2C) received full marks as a team in the Castors category.

In the junior school, Alfred (U2T) was the highest scoring pupil in the junior category. However, the Best in School award for the Junior category (U2 & 3F) goes to William (3W) and Laurie (3G) who achieved this with full marks in this year’s challenge. It is worth mentioning that William (3W) received full marks for 3 of his 4 years in the junior school and Best in School in the year he didn’t receive full marks.

Pupils in the Junior category who score a distinction will be invited to take part in the Coding Challenge in March.
