Devon Youth Orchestra Concert

On Sunday, several Exeter School musicians headed to Exeter quay to take part in a concert held by the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra. Both the junior and senior bands (DYJO1 & DYJO2) played their last concert on Devon soil before their forthcoming tour to the south of France. There, they will play at the internationally-famous Vienne Jazz Festival, and will open Crest Jazz’s ‘Jazz au Village‘ series at Die in the Drôme Valley.

By coincidence, Die is the other ‘home town’ of Exeter School teacher Brian Moore (who directs DYJO2), and is where he spends all his holidays. He’ll be using his local fame as cyclist-photographer ‘Un Anglais en Diois’ to try and fill the theatre with jazz fans to show off these talented young musicians!
