In July, Lamorna was selected to represent the Southwest in the U18 eventing team at Bishop Burton. Earning a regional place is a real honour, and it set the tone for a remarkable few months.
In August, Lamorna finished third individually in the National Chairman’s Cup at the Pony Club Championships. This was an incredible achievement. More than 70 riders took part in the three-day event, which combines dressage, show jumping and a challenging cross-country course. These results have earned Lamorna a place riding for the England team in the Four Nations Cup. The event takes place at Osberton, Nottinghamshire, at the beginning of October, and everyone at Exeter School will be cheering her on.
Last week, Lamorna rode for Exeter School at the National Schools Elite Show jumping in Hickstead’s famous International Arena. Competing against more than 50 riders from schools across the country, she finished seventh in the 110cm class and second in the 1m class.
Lydia J also enjoyed a great result at the Pony Club Championships. She finished third in her section of the 90cm eventing competition.
