This weekend saw 13 cadets from the RAF section taking part in the Southwest Royal Air Squadron Trophy; the culmination of weeks of hard work and dedication. Since October the cadets have been committed to extra training on Fridays after CCF and to several lunch times and Saturdays. The RAF cadet team lead by CWO Sarah Knapp, competed against 15 other schools in shooting, drill, aircraft recognition, leadership, RAF service knowledge and first aid. The team did exceptionally well, particularly in shooting, where they were runners-up. Despite not winning the competition, the cadets learnt a great deal about themselves, came together fantastically as a team and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We look forward to next year and seeing if we can do even better.
