Some Lower Sixth pupils took over some tutor time slots to speak to forms in Third Form, Fourth Form, and Lower Fifth about plastic pollution in our ocean this week and last. They researched some of the issues associated with plastics and put together an informative and interactive presentation, which involved some quizzes and team activities. Pupils were invited to come up with ideas for personal actions they may do to reduce plastic pollution. Some great suggestions that were shared with us included reducing the use of single use plastic wraps in lunch boxes, eating only farmed fish, trying to use detergent sheets instead of liquid detergent in plastic bottles, and more. Each student made a personal pledge for what they would try and do differently, keeping them motivated to be aware of the importance of sustainability.
