On the 8 and 9 November U6 Economics pupils took part in a trip to London to attend an Economics Conference in Westminster. After travelling to London by minibus, pupils were escorted by a professional tour guide around the City of London on a 2 hour walking tour, which explained the historic and current role of various financial institutions in the economic life of the UK. Afterwards, pupils were able to visit the Bank of England Museum and the viewing platform of the Sky Garden. In the evening, pupils met up in Soho to meet Old Exonian, Lucy Zhang, who graduated in 2018 to read PPE at Oxford University. Lucy, who is now working for the Civil Service developing government policy on generative AI, was able to explain her experiences of studying Economics at university.

The following day consisted of pupils attending a range of economic talks by various leading thinkers in Economics. Talks ranged the case of privatising the NHS to the abusive market power of Amazon. Angus in U6 said he was particularly impressed meeting Lucy as he is interested in studying Economics at Cambridge.
