On Tuesday 14  November, Old Exonian, Emily Peters (nee Acland, left 2015) came into the school to offer advice and share her business experiences with the L6 Young Entrepreneurs. Emily is the founder of “The Udder Stuff”, a chain of milk-shake vending machines across Devon. Emily set up the business in 2021 and has successfully expanded the number of outlets. She was able to offer advice to “Sea Shore”, the student company that is making jewellery from naturally found sea-glass. Emily was able to offer insights into the pitfalls that businesses face in the first few years and the importance that genuine marketing plays in developing the ethos and image of the business. She was also able to explain her own experiences of taking part in the Young Enterprise Programme, where Emily was the company secretary for Top Trumps. Emily will continue to act as a business advisor to the company, and Sea Shore will be selling their products at the school play and at the Magdalen Road Christmas market over the next few weeks.
