On Friday 13 March, Exeter Junior School was full of fairies! A donkey was wandering around, nobles were processing, and a strange bunch of workers were rehearsing for a play. Something magical was definitely in the air: yes! It was the Upper One production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
All the children in Upper One worked incredibly hard to learn their lines, their dances, and their songs. They looked spectacular and we were enthralled by the way they performed, and how they transformed during the course of rehearsals: growing in confidence and in character.
As Mrs Van said, it is no mean feat for eight and nine year olds to perform an hour of Shakespeare, yet they did it beautifully, and we are so proud of them all. We hope they have memories to last a lifetime.
Special thanks to Miss Cox, Ms Wormington, Mrs Russell, and Miss Smith for their amazing support and talents. A link to the performances can be found in this week’s newsletter.
