Success at the Torbay Music Festival

Posted: 11th March 2026

Congratulations to all our pupils who attended Torbay Music Festival over the weekend. In this article we share some of the successes from pupils across the various different categories.

Andrew and Simon

Well done to brothers Andrew (Lower Fifth) and Simon (Upper Two), who both competed across a range of classes on Saturday and Sunday, performing on multiple instruments and earning an impressive collection of cups, medals and first-place awards.

Andrew achieved first place and won the cup in both the Piano from Memory Advanced and Piano Classical Under 18 classes. He also competed in two brass classes on the trombone, winning the cups for Brass/Woodwind Grade 5-6 and Brass/Woodwind Higher Own Choice.

Simon also had a successful festival, winning first place and the cup in several piano classes: Grades 5-6, Piano Higher Own Choice, Piano Baroque Under 18, and Piano Jazz Intermediate. Simon also competed on the violin, winning the cup in the Strings Grade 3-4 class and achieving second place in the Strings Intermediate class.

The boys would also like to give a big thank you to their teachers, Miss Shifrina (piano), Mr Moore (trombone) and Miss Hill (violin) for their commitment and support.

Alex

A massive well done to Upper One (Year 4) pupil Alex for his fantastic achievements at the Torbay Music Festival over the weekend.
