After a couple of months of organising and planning, and couple of weeks of frantic rehearsal, the Lower Sixth (Year 12) music class and musician friends put on a short concert for the Exeter Forum Society at the Mint Methodist church last Wednesday. Having organised ourselves, a group of eight pupils walked down to the church and performed a variety of instrumental and vocal Christmas pieces for the congregation.
This performance is an annual event organised by the students in L6 alongside former staff member Mister Davidson. It is a pleasure to do so, as we can spread music to the local community. In return the church donates to the sixth form charity of choice, which this year is both Oddballs and CoppaFeel. Overall, this is a great opportunity to perform and spread some Christmas cheer.
Here is the programme:
The First Noel (Vocal Ensemble)
Carol of the Bells – Meighan and Darcy
The Acrobat – Seb
The Holly and the Ivy (Vocal Ensemble)
Christmas medley – Darcy and Gracie
Hark the Herald (Vocal Ensemble)
Christmas medley – Seb and Freddie
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas (Vocal Ensemble)
