Exeter School, one of the South West’s leading independent schools, congratulates our Year 11 pupils on their excellent GCSE results.
Three pupils, Toby, Marcus and Casper have achieved the remarkable feat of gaining ten or eleven grade 9s each, the very highest GCSE grade. We are delighted that all three will remain in our sixth form, where they will be pursuing an impressive mix of subjects including maths, further maths, geography, biology, Spanish, history, economics and chemistry. Their outstanding results and subject choices reflect both their individual talents, and the wide range of A Level opportunities open to pupils at Exeter School.
Our pupils have shone, with 23% of all grades being grade 9. Furthermore, 47% of grades awarded were a grade 8 or 9. 52% of our pupils achieved 8 or more 9-7 grades, of whom ten pupils achieved eight or more grade 9s, while twelve pupils secured exclusively grade 8s and 9s. The class of 2025 have all performed exceptionally, and we are immensely proud of their outstanding achievements.
Exeter School’s Head of Sixth Form, Mr Luigi Chu said: “I warmly congratulate all our Year 11 pupils on their well-deserved success at GCSE. My colleagues and I look forward to welcoming them back to school as they embark on the exciting new challenges and experiences that await them in our sixth form. A particular well done to those joining the sixth form as new pupils to the school; we look forward to them becoming part of the Exeter School community.”
Acting Head of Exeter School, Mr Graham Bone said: “As I take up the role of Acting Head, it is a privilege to share in the celebration of these fantastic results. Our Year 11 pupils have again shown themselves to be hard-working, diligent Exonians who have made the most of our outstanding teaching, top quality pastoral care, and the wide range of opportunities that Exeter School offers. We are delighted with their GCSE grades: with almost a quarter of results at the top grade of 9 and 47% at the top two grades, there is much to be proud of, and I want to thank all our staff, especially our dedicated teachers, in helping our pupils achieve these excellent outcomes. It is wonderful that so many of our pupils have chosen to continue with us into the sixth form. Their fantastic results, tenacity, and ambition will stand them in very good stead for the next stage of their education.”
