Saskia van Schalkwyk has been the Headmistress of Exeter Junior School since 2019. She is also an ISI inspector. Saskia joined the junior school from Granville School, a girl’s school in Kent where she was Deputy Head.
Saskia was born and educated in Devon, attending West Buckland School before moving to Roehampton where she achieved a BA QTS in science, maths, and sports science. She was designated safeguarding lead and head of pastoral at St Michael’s Preparatory School in Kent before moving to Granville School.
Returning to her Devon roots with her family, Saskia has two children who both attend Exeter School.
