Claire joined the Board in March 2023. She chairs the Education Committee and serves on the Welfare and Safeguarding Committee, as well as the Governance, Nominations and Remuneration Committee. Both of her children attended Exeter School.
Claire has more than 40 years experience in education, both as a practitioner and as a headteacher. In the ten years prior to her retirement in 2023, she worked as a Director of School Improvement within a Multi-Academy Trust, with responsibility for maintaining and improving standards of academic achievement and pastoral support. She also served as a lead inspector for Ofsted.
