We are fortunate to have a partnership with Sodexo, who offer diverse and nutritionally balanced menus. Additionally, they collaborate with us to promote sensible eating habits among our pupils.
Exeter Pre-Prep School receives daily deliveries of freshly prepared meals tailored to the nutritional needs of our growing, younger children. All pupils at this school participate in communal lunches held in the hall. This fosters a sense of togetherness and promoting good table manners. Engaging conversation topics are a part of this daily ritual.
In our junior school, it is our policy that all pupils partake in school lunches together within the dining hall, with supervision provided. We also have times in the year when pupils eat with their buddy, allocated in our buddy programme. This promotes inclusion and healthy conversation across the year groups.
In the senior school, pupils are encouraged to opt for school lunches on a termly basis, promoting a convenient dining option.
Our school’s kitchens are well-equipped to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements and food allergies. We are on the School’s Allergy Register and you can read more about that and our allergy and anaphylaxis policy here. The catering manager is available to discuss your child dietary needs.
Every day, we offer both hot and cold vegetarian meal choices, and vegan options can be requested.
Special themed days are highlights in the school calendar with annual favourites being the summer picnic barbecue, country- or area-specific themed days like Caribbean food, New York Deli sandwiches, or Thai. These do not only include famous favourites from the region but usually inspire pupils to try something a little different such as the chilli infused peach iced tea or lychee desert on the most recent Asian themed day.
For families joining our school, you will find more detailed information about our school lunch program in the parents’ handbook, which will be provided before your child’s start date. Those for 2025 can be downloaded below as a reference.
