PSHE lesson on consent and boundaries

Posted: 27th January 2026

Fourth Form (Year 8) pupils recently took part in a thoughtful and practical PSHE lesson on the importance of consent.

During the session, pupils faced one another and slowly walked forward, asking for permission at each step until the person opposite asked them to stop. They then switched roles, repeating the activity using only non-verbal communication to express how they were feeling.

The exercise helped pupils reflect on personal boundaries and recognise how empowering it can be to say “stop” and have that decision respected by others.
