Ökoscoop project with Goethe Institute

Posted: 23rd January 2026

On January 22, we took part in a German environmental project with the Goethe institute. Our remit was to address an environmental issue concerning our community. We decided to look at recycling within our school, researching the feasibility of using re-useable white board pens. Lower Sixth German pupils Gracie S, Cameron M, Ariana S, Freddie F, and Sebastian B. all took part in creating a presentation which we delivered to the Goethe Institute and another school in a Teams seminar. The seminar was conducted entirely in German and it allowed us to practise our German under pressure, having to think and answer questions quickly, as well as listen to the other school’s project and pose them questions. Overall, the experience was valuable and enjoyable for all of us and we now feel more ready to carry out our independent projects that are required for the German A Level.
