Informal String Concert - 20 Nov 2024

The first event was a testament to the success of the Exeter School String Instrument Scheme (ESSIS), which is now in its 4th year. Every pupil in Form One is offered the opportunity to have paired lessons in the violin, viola or ‘cello, and high numbers enjoy their lessons so much that they have continued learning. As such, our Informal String Concert was bursting with junior school players who were introduced to playing by the ESSIS. Amongst them, a number of more experienced senior players also took to the stage, undoubtedly inspiring the younger instrumentalists to continue enjoying their playing.

The pianists who performed on 20 November came from across the age range within the school community, performing pieces of many varying styles from pre-Grade 1 to Diploma level, and including a couple of very impressive own-compositions. We are setting the stage for Devon’s young musicians.

Informal Piano Concert - 13 Nov 2024

Our Informal Concert series resumes in January, with a revised start time of 4.10pm, to allow for the slightly later finish to the academic day for both the junior and senior schools. Parents are warmly invited to attend, however we request that they arrive no earlier than 4pm for refreshments please in order that academic lessons have concluded within the Music Department.

Open evening - 8 May

At Exeter School we believe that education is about the moments that make us. Meaningful moments that get etched in our memories and the everyday kindness that makes them possible. We welcome you to discover Exeter School in the best way possible. See it. Experience it. Ask questions to the people who matter the most – our pupils.
