The U12 boys’ travelled to Millfield on Thursday to represent Devon (and the school) at the West finals. They continued their excellent form eventually finishing runners up to the hosts. Earlier in the day the U12s had progressed in the groups stages beating Cheltenham Prep (3-0), Mount Bay (8-0), Monkton (3-1) and Millfield (2-1). Finishing top of the group meant that they faced Downes School in the semi-final and a potential re-match with Millfield if the hosts were able to beat Taunton in the second semi-final. A comfortable 5-1 in the semi-final for Exeter set up the re-match and, despite a brave performance, Millfield finished as winners by 3 goals to 1. Runners up at the west finals is a superb achievement and they should be very proud of their efforts. This was a real team effort with standout performances throughout the day, however, Max deserves special credit for scoring 10 goals on the day.
