The 2024 Chemistry Race

Posted: 16th February 2024

A team of Lower Sixth chemists went to Oxford University to take part in The 2024 Chemistry Race. The competition takes place simultaneously in Oxford and Cambridge with teams from schools around the country attempting to solve challenging chemistry problems including how much clotted cream it would take to travel to Clarkson’s farm and how much toxic gas is released by a banana! The questions were written by academics and students at the universities and points were awarded for speed and accuracy. The EXE-S Reagents (team name) didn’t win but performed very well and gained some good experience.
