The Middle Fifth Religious Studies class welcomed Mr Mark Richardson, Strategic Director for Exeter Foodbank. He explained how the foodbank operates, how people can contribute and volunteer and why some people are so in need of help. His role is to help the foodbank link with other services for vulnerable people to help clients move forward. The school have been collecting items to contribute to the foodbank. Poppy commented, “I found it quite upsetting how many people each year are struggling with money related issues – something that is very essential. I’m both glad and thankful to know, however, there are so many generous people that are willing to help each other.” Caspar added, “I didn’t know that they offered other services to accompany giving out food. They can really change people’s lives by giving out many other helpful services, like guidance on managing money.”
Many thanks, Mark, for giving up your time to help us learn about this important work that has an incredible impact in our community.
