On Monday 25 September, the Art Scholars along with Mrs Rafferty-White visited Plymouth College’s Art Department for a photography workshop. The aim of the visit was to get to experience the dark room and explore some experimental photography processes. Initially, pupils explored photograms but creating compositions of objects onto photographic paper, then graduating on to chemigrams which produced the most wonderful, painterly outcomes. These pieces beautifully intertwined fine art and photography. Lastly, pupils from both schools worked together to discover the potential of pinhole cameras, producing some experimental outcomes of views around the school.
A huge thank you to Plymouth College Art Department for hosting us and leading such an inspiring session. Pupils commented on how much they enjoyed meeting other Art pupils and seeing the variety of work they produce. We look forward to hosting Plymouth College Art Scholars when they visit us for a screen printing workshop in November.
