Adrian Burbanks

Adrian is a former pupil who attended Exeter School from age 7 to 18. Outside the classroom he was very involved in the music department, CCF and school journalism and represented the school in rugby and chess. Adrian is Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

After obtaining a degree in Human Geography at Queen Mary College, University of London, Adrian has pursued a successful career in International Finance working with a number of major global financial institutions including HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and UBS. After serving as Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer for Europe and the Americas at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, he was appointed Deputy General Manager of the Agricultural Bank of China London Branch in 2017.

He is married with four children, all of whom had an early years education in International Schools before attending an HMC Independent School in West London, where he is currently living. He served as a Governor of state primary and secondary schools in Hackney earlier in his career and later chaired the PTA of an International School in Tokyo. His interests include current affairs, music, education and Japanese culture. He is a concurrently a trustee of the Ealing Choral Society.
