PA to Head of Junior School and Administrator

The School is looking to appoint a PA to Head of Junior School and Administrator in our thriving junior school to commence at the beginning of September 2025. The position is full time during term time (36 weeks per year) plus 6 days outside term time (81.08% full time equivalent).

Exeter Junior School, nestled within a larger campus, preserves the intimate and inviting atmosphere of a small junior school amid expansive grounds and excellent facilities. The post holder will be a confidential assistant to the Head of the Junior School and to be responsible for the efficient organisation of the School Office. They will work closely with the Junior School Leadership Team, pastoral and academic staff, the Bursary, External Relations, Finance and HR teams, and the administrative staff within the School offices and with external agencies.

Applicants will be highly organised, resourceful and efficient, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining high standards. They will be a competent user of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ideally have experience of using iSAMS and My School Portal (or similar school IT packages).

Applicants will have a willingness to learn and grow, with a proactive approach to understanding the school’s culture, values, and activities. They will be approachable and empathetic, showing compassion, kindness and emotional intelligence when engaging with children, families, and colleagues.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The position is term-time only, with 6 additional working days required outside of term time, scheduled in advance. The role will attract a salary of £27,000 (pro-rata £24,752 inclusive of annual leave). Marketing and digital officer - Part time

We are looking to appoint a Marketing and digital officer to commence in July 2025.  This post sits within the External Relations department, which encompasses the functions of marketing, admissions, alumni relations, and development. It is a whole-school role, offering the opportunity to work across events in the Pre-Prep, Junior, and Senior Schools.

The post plays a crucial role in developing and implementing marketing initiatives to enhance the school’s online presence and brand awareness. This role also includes responsibility for social media and digital content creation for alumni engagement, strengthening relationships with former pupils and maintaining their connection with the school.

Applicants will have proven experience (1-2 years) in digital marketing with a solid understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies. They will be proficient in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads) and analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics). Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems (CMS), and email marketing tools is also required.

During term time (36 weeks) the hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. During non-term time the hours you will work are 19.5 hours per week over three days each week, the pattern of which will be agreed. Some evening and weekend working may be required by prior arrangement for which time off in lieu will be given. The salary will be £25,998 per annum, (pro-rata £23,359).  There are other generous benefits including employer pension contribution, free school lunch during term time, free on-site parking, and use of indoor swimming pool and fitness suite.

Events Officer - Part time

We are looking to appoint an Events Officer to commence in August 2025.  This post sits within the External Relations department, which encompasses the functions of marketing, admissions, alumni relations, and development. It is a whole-school role, offering the opportunity to work across events in the Pre-Prep, Junior, and Senior Schools.

The successful applicant will play a key role in planning and delivering external-facing school events. Responsibilities will include managing logistics, guest communications, and post-event evaluations.

We are seeking applicants with experience of working with people, ideally in a customer or client-facing role, where they have demonstrated empathy and the ability to connect meaningfully with a wide range of individuals. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential, along with proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office programmes.

The hours of work are 180 days during term (36 weeks) and around 15 days non term time on an annualised hours basis. There is some weekend and evening work. The post is primarily based in Exeter with some travel to event locations e.g. London, Bath and Cardiff. The pro-rata salary is circa £24,500 inclusive of annual leave. Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint a well qualified and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (full-time during term time) to teach in our thriving junior school.

Exeter Junior School, nestled within a larger campus, preserves the intimate and inviting atmosphere of a small junior school amid expansive grounds and excellent facilities. The prospective candidate will join an expert team overseeing approximately 200 pupils. Classes in the junior school are compact, ensuring the maintenance of elevated academic standards.

The role involves developing a clear understanding of each pupil’s unique learning support needs, supervising and providing tailored assistance both one-on-one and in group settings. The successful candidate will ensure a safe and inclusive environment where all pupils can access learning activities, while building positive, constructive relationships and interacting with pupils in ways that respect and respond to their individual needs. Specific qualifications, experience and/or training should be made clear on your application, and all will be advantageous in the application process.
