Amelie’s sailing success

Posted: 7th May 2025

Amelie (M5) is an avid dinghy sailor and last weekend travelled to Rutland to compete in the Eric Twainame (ETs) National Championships; a three day dinghy racing championship run by the RYA. Amelie sailed in her Topper against 82 other RTG selected Topper sailors (the best in each region of Great Britain). Amelie achieved 2nd female and made it onto the podium (18th out of 82). A great achievement in very windy conditions  against squad sailors from as far away is Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Amelie is a sponsored sailor for Goat Marine and Allen Brothers, as well as a team rider for Rooster and Optimum Time. She is also a UK Ambassador for Clean Sailors and a teen columnist for All at Sea National Newspaper.

This season, Amelie, in Middle Fifth, finished as the first female sailor in the Topper Dinghy class in the ITCA South West region. She also recently passed a qualification weekend to be awarded a place on the Royal Yachting Association/ British Youth Sailing Junior Pathway meaning that she will now join a regional training group to gain experience from Olympic level RYA coaches.

Another exciting result of Amelie’s success, means that she has recently been offered the chance to become a team rider for Rooster sailing! After such a successful season, we cant wait to continue to follow Amelie’s progress!
