Pupils take on Virgin Money challenge

Posted: 13th March 2026

This week there was a real buzz in the junior school as Upper Two pupils took to the playground to sell their products to the junior school community.

Earlier this year, each pupil was given £5 and formed a small team with other pupils to develop products and experiences which they then sell to the school community as part of their Virgin Money: make £5 grow challenge. This is the culmination of a term’s hard work, with each team conducting market research as well as trying and testing their products with their peers.

Well done to all pupils for showing such great creativity and teamwork. The products all proved very popular, with profits from the proceeds going to our three selected charities: Moor Trees, InFocus and NSPCC. The focus this year as always, has been on sustainability and being environmentally aware.

Good luck to the pupils in next week’s Dragons’ Den-style competition, we look forward to bringing you more on this next week.
