Some sunshine at last and just in time for a busy fortnight of cricket which has seen a huge number of cricket fixtures played throughout the school and some notable performances. The 1st XI play their final match of the season tomorrow against Blundell’s following an impressive run of six wins in seven matches with notable performances (and wins) against Well’s Cathedral School, Mount Kelly, Plymouth College and most recently the MCC.
The U12s were crowned county champions yesterday with victory against Uffculme School; It’s the U13 girls turn tomorrow when they compete with Blundell’s for the county title.
There has also been tremendous success in other year groups. The U11s have been in great form and progressed to the West finals where they finished runners up, the U15s reached the west finals of the national 40 over competition and the Girls U15s were involved in a brilliant match (and spectacle) against Plymouth College in the county cup semi-final on the 1st XI square.
It was also brilliant to see our B teams in action last week and there were some nail biters against both Plymouth College (U14B & U13B) and St Peter’s (U13B and U12B) with three of the matches going down to the final ball. Tomorrow’s block fixture against Blundell’s marks the end of the regular season, however, the U15 and U14 squads will be travelling to Manchester for a four day cricket tour next Friday – what a great way to end the season.
