Monty in L5 participated the Devon Schools Ski Competition held at Torquay Dry Ski slope on 20 November with 90 competitors. The race is open to any pupil of a Devon school aged between 5 and 18 competing in five age categories in the individuals competition. 3+ racers from the same school will qualify from the team competition.

Monty put in a fantastic first run which saw him win the U16 boys individual competition. “It was brilliant to be able to race locally against skiers from schools across the region. The atmosphere was great with a real sense of fun and I look forward to the South West Regional Schools Competition in spring next year.” he said. A huge congratulations to Monty!

We have had other Exeter School pupils take part in the past but it would be great to have enough competitors next year to have an Exeter team to take on the competition. Competitors do not need to have raced previously. It only matters that they are able to ski and willing to have a go. In spring next year, there will be the South West Schools Competition held at Gloucester, an event open to all pupils across the region with or without previous race experience. We can’t wait to welcome you to join the team!
