Chamber Concert 16 Nov 23

Posted: 17th November 2023

We held our inspiring Chamber Concert in the Chapel last night with a packed programme of performances. Performances commenced at 7.30pm with the Senior Brass directed by Brian Moore.

Sebastian (M5) was a memorable act up next performing The Acrobat on trombone.

The Chamber Choir and flute trio performed amazingly under the direction of Matt Davies and Ruth Mollins respectively. Some may not have experienced the bass flute before but it was a welcome addition to the concert.

Alice and Rowan (U6) provided solos for the chamber orchestra in Bach’s Allegro, Concerto for Two Violins in d. Vedang (U6) and Toby (L6) played a guitar duo and our string quartet expanded to a quintet for Mozart’s 1st movement.

The evening concluded with the first performance of the Belles Canto under the new directorship of Alison Northcott and everyone agreed that the evening had been a great overview of the talent of our pupils. It was comforting hearing the sounds echoing around the chapel on a cold, wet evening. Well done to all involved.
