The art department regularly recognises the achievements of individual pupils in the Third Form through to the Upper Sixth through the award of the title, ‘Artist of the Moment’. Entries cover a wide range of disciplines, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation and mixed media.
Our artist of the moment is Nathan in Lower Fifth. Under the umbrella heading of ‘design’, this year’s Lower Fifth are exploring the role of the architect. They have sourced a ‘forgotten place’ and taken their own photographs to illustrate in a mixed media style. Nathan has been inspired by the work of Ian Murphy to create this beautifully crafted, delicate image. Even though this is not yet finished, you can already see that the outcome is going to be stupendous! His image shows a clear visual understanding of the media and environment chosen to portray. Outstanding work with great character. Well done, Nathan.
