Clubs & activities, sports fixtures

Posted: 8th September 2023

After school training and clubs in the senior school started this week. A reminder of this term’s clubs & activities (no need to sign up!). Please see link (pdf). It would be great if parents could encourage their daughter’s/son’s to try something new this term. Form tutors and the PE department will be advertising these next week and encouraging pupils to get involved.

Cricket sessions – over the course of the autumn and spring term we offer some cricket coaching to senior school pupils. In the first instance we invite our cricket scholars and county players to one-to-one/small group coaching sessions during the autumn term as part of our scholarship and performance programme. Pupils will have had to represent Devon (either full team or development squad) the previous year to be considered. During the spring term the scheduling changes to enable us to offer squad/year group sessions in preparation for the season ahead. In order for us to assess new pupils we will be holding an after school session for 3F pupils (boys and girls) for the next two Tuesdays’ from 4-5pm in the sports hall. Pupils will require their PE kit/cricket whites and full cricket equipment. Please note this sessions is not for beginners.

Sports fixtures start this week with action for the senior rugby & hockey sides ahead of the first block rugby fixture next weekend. For information about fixtures (including team sheets) please visit SOCS at https://www.exeterschoolsport.org.uk . If you are unfamiliar the SOCS app please can we direct you to the information booklet on the parent portal. Please note that you will require a log in to check team sheets – the login is sportexeter1633

Availability for fixtures – a reminder that if your daughter/son is involved in a team and cannot attend a fixture we ask that you email their coach and/or head of sport a week (preferably two) in advance. This helps staff plan teams and ensure we fulfil fixtures. We appreciate there are sometimes last minute commitments
