Academic year 2026 – 2027

We recognise that these are challenging times for both independent schools and the families who support them. As a board, we are deeply aware of the financial commitment school fees represent and the pressures many families face in meeting them. We have therefore decided to announce the fees for next year earlier than in previous years to assist parents in their financial planning.

Registration fee

Exeter Pre-Prep School: payable on registration and non-refundable	£100*

VAT at the current rate of 20% has been added to these charges since 1 January 2025*

Acceptance deposit

Payable by the parents of each pupil on acceptance of a place in the Nursery.	£200
When moving to the Reception class parents are required to top up the acceptance deposit to £500.
Payable by the parents of each pupil on acceptance of a place in years Reception to Lower Sixth	£500

Pre-Prep – Reception

*The fees above are inclusive of VAT at the current rate of 20%.

Sibling discounts: A reduction of 5% of the tuition fee will be made for the second child in respect of whom fees are being paid in the senior or junior school, and 10% for the third or subsequent child.

Fees do not include the cost of lunches, which are as follows:

Lunches are compulsory in the pre-prep and junior school; they are optional in the senior school.

Extras

The tuition fees cover all normal expenses incurred by the school in the education of pupils.

External exam fees

All charges for external examinations, whether modular or linear, are paid in advance by the school on behalf of the pupil and will be billed to parents, shown separately on fees invoice. These disbursements are not subject to VAT.

Exam administration charges

For current pupils sitting curriculum subjects, £5* per entry, irrespective of the number of papers sat, detailed on fees invoice
For current pupils sitting non-curriculum subjects such as Chinese and Russian, £100* per entry, detailed on fees invoice
£2.50* per post-results service. This is paid at the time of the request through the exams office.

Learning support assessments

Parents are not charged for small-group or one-to-one sessions with our learning support coordinators. There is a £200* charge for a comprehensive learning support assessment, which often includes assessment for possible access arrangements in public exams. This assessment includes a detailed report to parents and, if appropriate, the construction of an agreed learning support strategy sheet. This charge is significantly less than the cost of a similar assessment carried out externally but parents can follow an external route instead if they wish.

An amount will be added to the fees invoice for the optional school fees refund scheme. If not declined, this cost is charged termly in advance.
