Exeter School rated top school in Devon
Financial Times 'Top 1000 Schools' places Exeter 115th nationally
Exeter School is celebrating some excellent news following the publication of the Financial Times annual Top 1000 Schools report last weekend. This is a league table which assesses all independent and state schools’ A-Level results from the summer of 2009 in terms of their quality
(average score per grade) and quantity (number of subjects and points per individual); and it defines academic achievement by results in ‘core subjects’.
Exeter School has been placed 115th nationally and, therefore, has been rated the top school in Devon.
Headmaster Bob Griffin said: “I am very proud of our pupils and colleagues and their continuous hard work to secure such a pleasing outcome, particularly considering our strong commitment to drama, music, sport and outdoor pursuits.”
