    Global warming: a researcher's perspective

Old Exonian Ed Hawkins addresses the Crossing Club

Climate change forum Ed Hawkins.jpgEd Hawkins, an old Exonian and leading researcher at Reading University, came to speak to both the Crossing Club and Lower Sixth geographers about the much debated topic of global warming.

The focus of his talks was explaining the truth about global warming without the influence of the media and unscientific claims newspapers often make. He spoke about the different theories concerning climate change and how it can be measured. He informed us of some of the problems we may be facing in the future if we continue to emit the amount of carbon dioxide we currently are.

His views on climate change were valuable for both our studies and our wider understanding of the challenges that face the modern world.
