Paris in the Spring
Sixth Form French and Theatre Studies trip
A Sixth Form French and Theatre Studies group visited Paris at the beginning of half-term, in fantastic weather. They visited the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Musées Carnavalet and Rodin and the Centre Pompidou, as well as the Tour Eiffel, and had a boat trip. They enjoyed a fascinating guided tour (in French) of the Opéra Garnier.
They saw L'École des Femmes with Daniel Auteuil at the Odéon and Bérénice at the Bouffes du Nord, a spellbinding performance by Lambert Wilson and Carole Bouquet. The brave members of the group went to lunch at "Dans le noir", a restaurant in total darkness where they had to guess what they were eating.
The group covered many kilometres on foot, walking through the Marais (Place des Vosges), Montmartre, the Palais Royal (where the pupils scaled Buren's columns), the Invalides, the Quartier Latin, l'Ile de la Cité, le Châtelet, les Halles and the Tuileries.
