U13 Girls Qualify for West Finals

U13 Devon Mini Hockey Championships

Exeter School U13 girls triumphed in the Devon Mini Hockey Championships on Sunday 10th February.

The results for their four preliminary matches were as follows:

	won against Isca 1-0
	drew against Ivybridge 0-0
	won against Teignmouth 8-0
	lost against Mount House 2-1

Top scorers were Issy Gibber (4), Katie Taverner (2), Georgia Reece (2), and Laura Thomas (1)

The girls qualified as runners up to play Exe in the semi finals, in which they drew 1-1 with Laura Thomas scoring. In a penalty flick play-off Laura Stacey, Laura Thomas and Katie Taverner all scored, and Kitty Howard made an excellent save, qualifying the team for the finals against Blundell's.

The match was very close, but with goals from Laura Thomas and Issy Gibber, Exeter School managed to beat Blundell's 2-1 to win the Championships. The team will now go on to represent Devon in the West Finals at Millfield on Saturday 26th April.

The squad consisted of Laura Thomas, Becky Glover, Freija Mendrik, Georgia Reece, Eleanor Dawson, Issy Gibber, Katie Taverner, Kitty Howard, Lucy Swiggs and Laura Stacey.
