IAPS swimming success!

Outstanding performances

The U10 and U11 swimming team headed to Hazelgrove to compete in the IAPS gala in the spring term. All of the galas have now taken place across the country and the overall results have been released.

Notable performances came from Lamorna May, Hanna Sari, Evie Jenkins and Emily Bishop who in their U10 medley relay came 27th out of 119 teams, and in the freestyle relay came 22nd out of 147 teams. In addition, other individual outstanding performances came from George Gillingham who came 35th out of 119 in the U11 25m butterfly, Rosie Batchelor who came 44th out of 190 in the U11 50m freestyle and Emily Bishop who came 27th out of 129 in the U10 25m Butterfly.

In order to qualify for the final round, individuals needed to come inside the top 20.

PE and Girls’ Games Coordinator Miss Wright said it was exceptionally exciting to announce one more noteworthy performance, that of Hanna Sari.

“Hanna competed in the U10 25m breast stroke and not only did Hanna qualify for the finals but she came 8th out of 134 competitors!

Hanna will now go onto represent herself and Exeter School at the IAPS finals, held on Saturday 8 June at the London Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.

“We wish her all best in the next exciting round.”
