The Mars Generation
Alumnus Tom Pearson gave a talk to Crossing Club on his experiences at Space Camp USA at the end of March.
Tom is currently working as a Science teacher and applied for the course through Honeywell, a company which sponsors trips to NASA for educators from across the world.
During the trip, Tom was selected as a group team leader for the week. His team experienced rocket launches, zero gravity simulations and a moonwalk simulator amongst a range of other activities.
The theme of the Space Camp is to inspire the Mars Generation, which suggests that the current generation of school pupils will be the first to send a person to Mars.
Many thanks to Tom for giving up his time and giving such an interesting talk.
