Fourth Form pupils artwork inspired by Alice in Wonderland

Lower School production

Fourth Form pupils have produced a series of artworks, inspired by the Drama department’s production of Alice in Wonderland. The exhibition of pupil work will be on display in the Dining Hall Foyer during the week of the production.

Initially, pupils studied the work of artist Tom Phillips, who creates beautiful collages and mixed media artworks using book pages. From here, they carefully read a series of extracts from the story, highlighting the most visually interesting and dynamic phrases.

These keywords became the basis of their illustrations, which were thoughtfully placed around the text bubbles. Finally, using watercolour and dip pen and ink, pupils rendered their outcomes taking inspiration from John Tenniel’s original illustrations for Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland.

We hope that you enjoy their responses.
