Summer art show review

Posted: 4th July 2023

It was a pleasure to welcome so many families and friends to the annual Summer Art Show 2023. The event took place from 6-8pm on Monday 26 June and had a steady stream of people attending throughout the evening. The exhibition was a showcase of artwork created in lessons from Third to Lower Fifth Form. This year we also had the work of Middle Fifth Form exhibited in the gallery as a group show. The work on display were the outcomes of two projects created in the past year, celebrating their ‘Identity’ and ‘Collections’. We also displayed worked from our printmaking workshops with Year Two in the New School and Upper One in the Junior School.

However, the highlight of the show were the ambitious, individual installations and displays created by our GCSE and A level pupils. Here we saw a range of processes and techniques from traditional fine art canvases to film, animation and even a crotchet spider!

It was lovely to see the pupils enjoy the fruits of their labours and celebrate their efforts of the past two years, with family, friends, and other teaching staff at Exeter School.

The Art Department wish our leavers the best of luck for their future endeavours and hope that they will visit us again in the future.
