Exeter Junior School team takes Youth Speaks area title

Youth Speaks 2019

Our Exeter Junior School Public Speaking Competition Winners took on seven other local schools when they entered the Rotary Club’s Youth Speaks 2019 on Tuesday 29 January.

Our team, consisting of Chair, Grace Lister, Speaker, Emma Barton and Vote of Thanks, Rosie Batchelor aimed to convince a packed audience that Santa Claus really does exist.

Their highly persuasive argument used science, Schrödinger's Cat and ‘having a little faith’ in order to break down people’s doubts about Santa.

“Judging by the comments of the Rotary Club Members, they succeeded and our fantastic team have beaten strong opposition to make it through to the next round,” said Junior School English Coordinator Rita Pettet.

This is the District Final and will take place on Saturday 16 March in Saltash. We wish them all the very best.
