Sixth Form artists trip to Plymouth
A Level Art
Lower Sixth Form Art pupils visited the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth to gather first hand contextual studies and photography for their project titled ‘Water’ on Monday 24 September.
Pupils gathered a wealth of studies, from carefully rendered tonal drawings of star fish to quick gestural drawings of fish from the Great Barrier Reef, darting around quickly in the tropical tank.
Undoubtedly a highlight was the rays swimming over the top of our heads as they were fed their breakfast.
The photographs pupils took on the visit will aid them in producing more sustained studies upon our return to the classroom, including printmaking, artists’ books and painting.
